An employer of record (EOR) in Egypt employs people on your behalf, so you can hire there without your own company. In October 2026, the global platforms published fees for Egypt from $199 to $599 a person a month, on top of the salary and social insurance. On an employment cost of $2,000 a month, that fee adds 10% to 30%.

These are list prices and they change; most providers discount for volume or a longer term. Papaya Global and Multiplier show prices we could not read on their own pages, so ask them for an Egypt quote.
What the fee adds to the employment cost
| Monthly fee | Total a month | Fee as a share of the employment cost |
|---|---|---|
| $199 (Skuad, 12-month term) | $2,199 | 10% |
| $249 (Skuad, volume price) | $2,249 | 12% |
| $349 (Skuad, list price) | $2,349 | 17% |
| $399 (Playroll) | $2,399 | 20% |
| $599 (Deel, Remote) | $2,599 | 30% |
The example is an employment cost, the salary plus employer social insurance, of $2,000 a month: about EGP 110,600 at EGP 55.3 to the dollar. On $4,000 a month, a $599 fee adds 15%. Flat fees weigh more in Egypt than in countries with higher pay.
What the employment cost includes
Employer social insurance in Egypt is 18.75% of the insurable wage, which is capped at EGP 16,700 a month in 2026, so it never exceeds EGP 3,131.25 a month. Some providers quote employer costs as a share of salary: Deel’s Egypt page estimates about 19.35%. Because of the cap, employer social insurance on a gross salary of EGP 50,000 works out at about 6%, and the share falls as pay rises.
What an EOR does, and what it leaves to you
- It does: become the legal employer, issue the employment contract, run payroll, social insurance and salary tax, and handle the paperwork when the employment ends.
- It leaves to you: finding the person, directing and reviewing the work, and usually the laptop and software, unless you buy them as an extra.
- It bills on top of the fee: the salary, employer social insurance and any benefits you add.
Questions to ask before you sign
- 01Is the price for Egypt, or a global “from” price?
- 02Is a deposit required, and how much?
- 03Which exchange rate is used when you fund payroll in dollars or euros?
- 04Who provides the laptop and software licences?
- 05What notice and compensation would ending the employment involve under Egypt’s Labour Law 14 of 2025?
- 06Is there a minimum term, or a fee for leaving early?
When an EOR fits, and when something else does
- An EOR fits when you have already found the person, you will manage them yourself, and you want them employed correctly without a company in Egypt.
- Your own company fits a large, long-term team, once the cost of an entity, payroll and an office is spread over enough people.
- An embedded team fits when you also need the people found, equipped and managed: GrowAxis employs dedicated experts in Cairo who work inside your team, with performance reviews and reports, at an all-in price per person per month from $1,500.

FAQ
Which employer of record has its own entity in Egypt?
On their own sites, Remote and Mercans say they own their legal entity in Egypt, Rivermate says it provides a local entity, and G-P hires through its Egypt PEO. Ask any provider whether the entity is its own or a partner’s, because that decides who you deal with on payroll and disputes.
What is the best employer of record in Egypt?
No one provider is best for every company, and this list is not a ranking. Compare the Egypt fee on the provider’s own page, whether it owns its Egypt entity, the deposit and notice terms, and how it applies the 2025 labour law and the data protection law.
