An ERP puts sales, invoicing, stock and accounting in one system. For a small company the licence is often the smaller cost: implementation, data, e-invoicing and custom work usually cost more in the first year. These are the prices each vendor published on 4 November 2026; Odoo and Zoho set prices by country, and the figures here are as shown in Egypt unless stated.

What implementation costs

Odoo sells implementation hours with a dedicated consultant: 25 hours for US$1,150, 50 hours for US$2,240, 100 hours for US$4,000 and 200 hours for US$8,000. New customers get 15% off their first pack (US$977.50, US$1,904, US$3,400 and US$6,800). Travel is billed separately.

Partners quote by scope: the apps, the data to move, the integrations and any custom work. Ask two or three for a written quote on the same scope, and ask who will support any custom code after go-live.

Panorama Consulting’s 2026 ERP Report, released on 4 March 2026, found that more than a quarter of organisations exceeded their project budgets, with additional technology needs the leading cause.

Hosting and extras

Odoo’s pricing configurator lists standard cloud hosting and self-hosting as free. Odoo.sh, the platform for custom modules, costs extra: a worker was listed at US$72.00 a month and a staging environment at US$18.00, with lower figures (US$57.60 and US$14.40) also shown. Success Pack hours expire after one year.

Zoho’s UAE page lists Zoho Books from Standard at AED 60 a month billed yearly (AED 69 monthly) to Ultimate at AED 660 (AED 799), per organisation. Its e-invoicing add-on gives the first 100 transactions free on Professional and above, then packs from AED 41 per 100.

What e-invoicing adds in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE

  • The Egyptian Tax Authority says all taxpayers have had to issue electronic tax invoices for goods and services since 15 December 2022, and that from 1 April 2023 only entities that issue e-invoices can deal with the customs system. E-receipts cover sales to consumers, for the taxpayers named in ETA decisions, which the ETA lets you look up.
  • ZATCA brings taxpayers into Phase 2 (integration with its systems) in waves and notifies each wave at least six months ahead. Wave 24 covered VAT-able revenue above SAR 375,000, with a deadline of 30 June 2026. Wave 25 covers revenue above SAR 187,500, with a deadline of 1 February 2027.
  • Businesses in the UAE with annual revenue above AED 50 million must fully implement e-invoicing by 1 January 2027. In May 2026 the Ministry of Finance moved their deadline to appoint an Accredited Service Provider from 31 July to 30 October 2026.
  • The UAE system covers B2B and B2G transactions. Businesses with revenue below AED 50 million must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027 and start on 1 July 2027; government entities start on 1 October 2027. A voluntary pilot began on 1 July 2026.

Check that the ERP you choose connects to your tax authority before you sign, and budget the set-up and testing.

How to keep the cost down

  • Start with the fewest apps that run your day: usually CRM, sales, invoicing and accounting.
  • Use the standard apps for a few weeks before paying for custom work.
  • Clean your customer and product data before it moves.
  • Name one owner on your side who decides on processes.
  • Get the scope in writing, and quotes for the same scope.
