ERP for startups and SMEs. Set up around how you sell.
GrowAxis implements Odoo or Zoho for startups and SMEs: sales, invoicing, stock and accounting in one system, set up around how you find, win and serve customers, with e-invoicing for Egypt’s Tax Authority, Saudi Arabia’s ZATCA or the UAE’s new system where you need it. The first apps go live within 30 days, and our own developers in Cairo build what the standard apps do not cover.

03Facts
ERP for a small company: the 2026 facts
- Who Odoo says should implement with whom
- Odoo’s pricing page says companies with fewer than 50 employees usually work directly with Odoo using Success Packs, companies above 50 employees usually work with a partner, and companies above 250 employees contact Odoo directly. Implementation is not included in any Odoo plan.
- Odoo One App Free
- One Odoo app for unlimited users, free, hosted on Odoo Online. Apps it depends on come free too; installing more apps moves the database to the paid Standard plan.
- Odoo’s own success figure
- Odoo’s Success Packs page claims a 98% implementation success rate with a Success Pack, against 65% for companies that implement on their own. Odoo does not say how it measures this.
- Budget overruns
- Panorama Consulting’s 2026 ERP Report, released on 4 March 2026, found that more than a quarter of organisations exceeded their project budgets, with additional technology needs the leading cause. The press release does not give the sample size.
- Egypt: e-invoices and e-receipts
- The Egyptian Tax Authority says all taxpayers have had to issue electronic tax invoices for goods and services since 15 December 2022, and that from 1 April 2023 only entities that issue e-invoices can deal with the customs system. E-receipts cover sales to consumers, for the taxpayers named in ETA decisions, which the ETA lets you look up.
- ETA e-invoicing in Odoo
- Odoo’s Egypt localisation supports ETA e-invoicing from Odoo 15.0. You register Odoo as an ERP on the ETA portal, and each person who signs invoices needs a USB key, which the ETA or Egypt Trust can provide.
- Saudi Arabia: ZATCA Phase 2 waves
- ZATCA brings taxpayers into Phase 2 (integration with its systems) in waves and notifies each wave at least six months ahead. Wave 24 covered VAT-able revenue above SAR 375,000, with a deadline of 30 June 2026. Wave 25 covers revenue above SAR 187,500, with a deadline of 1 February 2027.
- UAE: first e-invoicing deadline
- Businesses in the UAE with annual revenue above AED 50 million must fully implement e-invoicing by 1 January 2027. In May 2026 the Ministry of Finance moved their deadline to appoint an Accredited Service Provider from 31 July to 30 October 2026.
- UAE: smaller businesses
- The UAE system covers B2B and B2G transactions. Businesses with revenue below AED 50 million must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027 and start on 1 July 2027; government entities start on 1 October 2027. A voluntary pilot began on 1 July 2026.

05FAQ
ERP implementation for startups and SMEs: what founders ask first.
Not always on day one. Odoo’s One App Free plan gives one app to unlimited users at no cost, so a startup can start with invoicing or a CRM and add apps when sales, stock and accounting need to share one system.
Licences can start free (Odoo’s One App Free, or Zoho Books for one user) and are priced per user or per organisation after that; Odoo’s own implementation packs start at US$1,150 for 25 consultant hours. Our guide to what ERP costs in 2026 lists each vendor’s published prices.
It depends on the scope. ALZ ERP, a Saudi vendor, puts a focused SME project at 4 to 12 weeks; GrowAI puts the first apps live within 30 days and adds the rest one at a time.
Odoo says companies with fewer than 50 employees usually work with Odoo directly through Success Packs, and larger ones with a local partner. Either way, ask who configures it, who trains your team and who supports any custom code.
Usually, yes. All taxpayers in Egypt have issued e-invoices through the ETA since 15 December 2022, Saudi Arabia adds taxpayers to ZATCA Phase 2 in waves (wave 25 covers revenue above SAR 187,500 from 1 February 2027), and the UAE starts with companies above AED 50 million on 1 January 2027.
Panorama’s 2026 ERP Report found that more than a quarter of organisations went over budget, with additional technology needs the leading cause. Agreeing the processes and the first apps before anything is configured keeps the scope in check.
Yes. Developers employed by GrowAxis in Cairo build and maintain custom modules, reports and integrations. In Odoo, custom code needs the Custom plan, and hosting custom modules on Odoo.sh is billed separately.
Odoo when sales, stock and accounting should share one system; Zoho when a CRM comes first and the other apps can sit around it. In Egypt, check e-invoicing: Odoo builds the ETA link into its Egypt localisation, while Zoho relies on connectors made by other companies.
