  • Egypt is outside the EU, so personal data accessed from there needs a transfer basis under the GDPR, such as the EU’s standard contractual clauses, agreed in the contract. Egypt also has its own Personal Data Protection Law (Law 151 of 2020). Keeping access in your own accounts and systems makes it easier to control.

  • Nearshore for most of Europe: Cairo is one hour ahead of Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels and two hours ahead of London for most of the year, so the team shares your working day.

  • No. Personal data accessed from Egypt needs a transfer basis under the GDPR, such as the EU’s standard contractual clauses, agreed in the contract.
